St. Louis Air & Space Museum

St. Louis Air & Space

McDonnell Douglas, a St. Louis company, made the Mercury and Gemini spacecrafts, so it’s no surprise that a local musuem has an interesting space collection.

Included are: a Gus Grissom Mercury space suit worn in training; Gordo’s training space suite for his Mercury flight; various items worn and used by Elliot See (who died before his scheduled Gemini flight).

The museum is at 2300 Vector Drive, Cahokia, IL 62206. Phone: 618-332-3664.
